We'd heard Sugar In The Hold numerous times and it was fantastic - we knew that we'd have to record it sooner or later, so why not have it kick off the album? Not so much a sea-faring shanty but one for the river trade. Regardless, we know you'll love it!

We first got our start singing shanties, so it seemed appropriate for our 25th anniversary that we would record a disc of nothing but shanties to help celebrate.

This album was included as a bonus disc in the physical release of that anniversary album, XXV. However, when released virtually we kept just the first disc as XXV and made the second disc it's own standalone album, called Shantytime.
