David Cameron this scrapped the 1975 rules which prevented remarried military widows from claiming pension following years of campaigning by the War Widows Association. Describing the rules as 'absolutely wrong,' the Prime Minister was joined by representatives of the Association this morning to announce the change. His comments were welcomed by Irene Wills, Chairwoman of the Association, who praised the Government for 'correcting an injustice'. Mr Cameron joined the Military Wives Choir in central London this morning in the start of Remembrance weekend events.
