Parque Nacional De Timanfaya, Lanzarote (4K)

Timanfaya volcanic national park is the main tourist destination in Lanzarote, and for good reason. Timanfaya is an extensive, extreme and beautiful volcanic park. At the visitors centre you can get get a tour bus to take you around the national park where you normally aren’t allowed to walk or drive. After the tour you can see demonstrations of the Geysers, where they add water in them and watch them boil and explode out the top. They also have demonstrations showing the heat of the ground, they will press some dried plants against a hole they dug and it all catches flames.

Millions of people visit Timanfaya national park every year, if you want to avoid queuing at the entrance, try to get to the park for opening time. You won’t even be allowed near the visitors centre without a ticket so make sure you get one, you can Buy them at the gate, but they are cheaper when bought as a multi ticket to see other attractions.

At the restaurant here, they actually grill their food using the heat from the volcano below.

The national park covers 51Km2. The last recorded eruption here was in 1736.
