In this presentation, Rami Tamimi professional surveyor and Founder of the Survey School – shows how consumer-grade hardware can be turned into high-accuracy mobile mapping systems.

From UAVs and smartphones to Tesla dash cams paired with RTK GNSS, Rami walks through his research on camera calibration, GNSS synchronization and photogrammetric workflows that extract survey-grade data from affordable, off-the-shelf devices. He also demonstrates his own software platform SurveyXR (GeoFrame), built to make this kind of experimentation and research more accessible to surveyors and geospatial professionals.

Ramy Tamimi is a licensed professional surveyor and PhD candidate in Geodetic Engineering at The Ohio State University. He previously worked as a software engineer at General Motors on sensor alignment and localization and now focuses on modern geospatial workflows, education and content creation.
