Previously, mass drug administrations for intestinal worms and schistosomiasis in Kenya focused on children around 2 to 14 years old. But, in order to finally end these two debilitating parasites, Kenya is taking a broader approach and treating all populations at risk. These two parasites can cause malnutrition, anemia, and even death of left untreated. Children find it difficult to attend school and learn while sick from parasitic worm infections. By expanding treatment to everyone, Kenya will help ensure people are not needlessly held back from pursing their potential.
