A firefighter fell 13 feet after a floor collapsed during a blazing inferno, sending him crashing to the first floor of the home.

The Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company in Pennsylvania released the body camera recording of one of their volunteers who was working with a crew to extinguish a large fire on the second story of a home on Aug. 3.

While navigating the second floor, the floor crumbled and opened up beneath the volunteer. The firefighter fell roughly 13 feet, landing on his back on the lower floor.

The victim's fellow firefighters only took 31 seconds to remove him from the building and send him on his way to the hospital. Thanks in part to their quick action, the volunteer survived the incident without any life-threatening or even severe injuries, and was released by medical personnel the same day.
