Greens leader Larissa Waters has avoided stating a position on the Robbins Island wind farm, a renewables project opposed by two of her parliamentary colleagues.

The Tasmanian project, a 100-turbine facility that would be Tasmania's largest, is fervently opposed by the minor party's two Tasmanian senators, Nick McKim and Peter Whish-Wilson, on the grounds it threatens several endangered species.

Senator Waters said the renewables rollout should be accelerated with long-awaited reforms to environmental laws, which should include a requirement to consider the climate impacts of major projects.
