Children's Sermon Lesson: Moses and the Passover (Exodus 12:1-14)

The Passover of the angel of death in Egypt is a significant story that is still remembered and celebrated in the Jewish faith. It should be important to Christians, as well! As we look at the people of God escaping from the slavery enforced by Pharaoh, the Passover is a reminder of God’s grace and deliverance. For us on the other side of the New Testament, we see how this event served as a symbol and foreshadowing of something much greater: a deliverance from sin bondage, made possible by God’s perfect lamb, Jesus! This message uses familiar symbols to explain to students how God gives us signs that represent His love and power.
