Unearth centuries of gardening history at Sheffield Park and Garden, East Sussex

Описание к видео Unearth centuries of gardening history at Sheffield Park and Garden, East Sussex

Water has always been a feature of Sheffield Park and Garden, which can trace its roots back to 1745 when a pond was created from a small stream.
During the next 300 years the estate, now in the care of the National Trust, was influenced by its owners in different ways. From the fashionable and grand designs of John Baker Holroyd (later the First Earl of Sheffield) and Capability Brown in the late 1700s to the worldly influences and exotic plants brought by Arthur Soames, who owned the estate from 1910.
Watch this video and join Garden and Outdoors Manager, Flic Archer for a walk around Sheffield Park and Garden as she explains how people have shaped the landscape here.
You’ll also discover how to use fallen leaves to improve the condition of the beds and borders in your own garden.
During our busy autumn season, you will need to pre-book your visit to Sheffield Park and Garden. Book up to 2 weeks in advance online or via the box office for visits until 20 November 2022.
