A day with the BNSF on the St. Joe Sub

POINT OF INTEREST: Train #6 in this video has the former "Vomit Bonnet" second out. SD70MAC #9647 had been painted in the one of a kind dark green and cream War Bonnet" scheme. It was repainted here in Kansas City over at Mid-America Car a year or two ago.

Went on a bit of a road trip for this one. Met Shane at Kansas City's Union Station and road with him up to his favorite area to railfan. Posted one or two other videos from this location, but this was the last time I was up there.

This is BNSF's St. Joe Sub, it runs north/south, but technically, the trains going north are westbound, while the southbound trains are classified as eastbound. It's mostly a coal line... at least before coal trains took a nose dive this winter.

I've been wanting to post this one for quite a while now, but as big as it is, my old computer just couldn't have handled it. But this new one, it isn't an issue. The first and third train in this video is actually the same train, just in two different locations. We filmed it in Parkville, MO, then drove up north to the Waldron area. We passed it as it was put in the siding, and filmed it a second time as it passed us by in Waldron, that why I shortened that clip up a bunch. Otherwise, all the trains are shown in there entirety.

This Sunday I should have the video I took this passed weekend at the big train show in down town KC, it' will even have a little bit of Sunday morning railfanning.
