Описание к видео FULL VIDEO : CAPLETON Dubplate Session at Jaro Dubplate Studio. August 2003

Unedited and Full footage from a Dubplate session with the King of fire CAPLETON featuring a slew of dubs and specials for various Sounds recorded at Killamanjaro Studio, Kingston Jamaica, August 2003.

This session was absolutely FIRE, literally! The heat, sweat and vibes from inside this tiny crammed room at Jaro physically destroyed some of the recording equipment, and even the DAT cassette in the machine actually melted. Sadly some (if not all) the specials that you'll hear on this footage were unsalvageable and presumably couldn't be recovered later.

I have to send a huge shout out to friends Chant Down Sound out of Melbourne Australia, who are also seen in this footage and you'll immediately hear two of their scorching Capleton specials straight off the bat. Sadly these were some of specials that got destroyed from the melted equipment so this footage is all that remains. Capleton did voice them again for Chant Down the next day back at Jaro, but this time with no entourage and no hype, strictly business, in and out like a flash but very professional. As it goes no two specials can never sound the alike and capture the same vibe, but glad atleast this footage of the first take exists. I'm not sure who the other sounds were that got voiced, Classique, Future Force, leave a comment if it's you.

After around 42 minutes I had to switch the camera off as the sweat from my hands and forehead was dripping off and making it's way into the camcorder and the heat was just too intense. I was afraid to lose all the footage so I quit while I was ahead and decided to end it there. To this day, I will say that I've never quite experienced a session with this much intensity and energy before and it was a memorable and surreal experience. Stay til the end, and watch King Shango in his focused element working his craft.

Technical notes, I filmed this with Sony Handycam Video 8 Camcorder that I purchased in 1999 still with cassettes and before HD and SD memory cards was a thing, hence the quality. I also didn't want to crop any of the footage so I left it in the original aspect ratio as it was originally recorded.
