LC Paris: CCUS at scale - European initiatives

Описание к видео LC Paris: CCUS at scale - European initiatives

An event organized by LC Paris on 12 October 2023, featuring guest speakers Callum Barrow (CEng, MEng, MIMarEST), Subsea Facilities Lead at Equinor, Sonia Isabella López Kovács, Reservoir Engineer Advisor at Repsol and Fernanda M.L. Veloso, CO2 storage expert at BRGM

Summary
CO2 storage in geological structures counts among the viable solutions being implemented to help our modern societies reach carbon neutrality. Although not enough in itself to achieve it, it appears as a valuable option to reduce instantly emissions in this period of energy transition. Many renewable energy power plants are under deployment worldwide, but oil and gas remain the main energy source in many sectors (industrial productions, transports). Long term storage of their emissions in the underground provides a provisional solution to this complex carbon neutrality challenge that can only be solved in the long run by a series of technological breakthroughs that are likely to span over several decades.
EAGE Local Chapter Paris invites you to discover some of the industrial CCUS projects being implemented in Europe. Our 3 speakers will give you an overview of the long-winded work needed to carry out with caution these complex projects from storage site selection to industrial implementation and exploitation.
