Imagine what could change if you just walk the talk | Melanie Gow | TEDxSWPS

Описание к видео Imagine what could change if you just walk the talk | Melanie Gow | TEDxSWPS

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. An extraordinary journey undertaken by a mother and her two sons which transformed each of them. Pilgrimage in action.

Melanie Gow is a writer and photographic artist. From Kenya, East Africa, she has travelled with a camera and a pen ever since she got a passport age six. Studying Art,
and Dramatic Art, she went into film-making initially; the first British woman film director with a film released in UK cinemas, she wrote and directed a feature film that was awarded Best Woman Director at the The Festróia Festival Internacional de Cinema de Troia. Then she had children and her eldest son
was chronically ill. With a change in his treatment he recovered and she spent the next five years researching why her
approach worked. Her subsequent book, Toasters Don’t Roast Chickens, was published in 2008. Now, taking photographs and writing their stories has become a way of life.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
