Sea of Tranquility (written by Stuart J Wolstenholme , performed by Jez Smith)

Sea of Tranquility is a beautiful piece of music written by Stuart "Woolly" Wolstenholme of Barclay James Harvest and appears on their album "Gone To Earth"

The original has a lush production and is almost choral-like - please check it out if you don't know it !

I made this little video of the song as a piano piece on the 10th anniversary of Woolly's tragic passing in 2010, I suppose as a personal tribute to an ex-band mate . I think it shows how strong musically the piece is when everything is stripped away.

Woolly and I had "plotted" to get the song introduced into the John Lees' Barclay James Harvest set for concerts later that year and i had done quite an amount of work prepping for it. I still have all my sounds programmed up on my Roland Fantom X8 . Sadly , Woolly's demons got the better of him and I never got to play it with him.
