Teens Tackling Trauma: A Conversation about Adolescent Mental Health

DRCVI hosts a discussion with Tarik McMillan and Brandy Brooks about the various traumas Virgin Islands youth face. They present ways to speak with them and help them cope with those traumatic experiences. Tarrik McMillan of Greater Changes explains how Caribbean history and mental health stigma are directly related; he talks about the various types of traumas and the need for mental health literacy within the community to support the next generations. Brandy Brookes of The Village Partners in Recovery speaks about their drug and alcohol prevention and treatment plans and mental health counseling services.
