Wild Dogs Rugby - HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Our journey began in 2017 when we were invited by the European Beach Rugby Association (EBRA) to represent South Africa in the final leg of the EBRA series in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. The popularity of the Wild Dogs at the tournament ultimately saw us invited back to compete in 2018.
We chose to build on our success by expanding our tournament fixtures the following year to include more formats of the game namely 7s & 10s. Today we compete all over the world at multiple levels ranging from Ultra Social and Vets rugby, right through to Open and Elite.

We have also just introduced (2022) our newly formed Ladies Rugby Team, who are competing alongside our men's teams in a number of tournaments.

ENCOMPASSING THE SPIRIT OF UBUNTU
The Wild Dogs are a rugby family, who want to spread their love of the game in competitions that fans love whilst building a global community driven by family, sportsmanship, teamwork, culture and enjoyment both on and off the rugby field.
We have representation from over 17 countries including many players from the home nations but have strong traditions and roots stemming from Southern Africa. We are a distinctive team, easily recognisable by our signature Ndebele patterned kit and known for a dogged yet skilful and entertaining brand of rugby.
*Ubuntu is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity". It is sometimes translated as "I am because we are" or "humanity towards others".
