The Teahouse Detective is fictional character, created by Baroness Emma Orczy(1865-1947). It is first published In 1909 as (The Old Man in the Corner).
In Baroness Orczy's detective stories, the Old Man in the Corner is a distinctive and eccentric character who solves crimes from a corner table in a tea shop.
The old man rarely moves from his corner seat, preferring to remain seated and solve mysteries through pure intellectual deduction.
The narrator of these stories, a young female journalist named Polly Burton, listens to his detailed explanations of complex criminal cases, which he solves through careful reasoning and meticulous analysis of newspaper reports and public information.
