Yemeni security forces uncovered a UK-Saudi spy network in Sanaa, tasked with gathering intelligence on military sites and state leaders, reports reveal. The spies, reportedly trained in Riyadh by Saudi and UK officers, monitored sensitive locations and residences. Officials allege Israel, the US, and UK spy agencies were involved in creating a target database. Yemen’s Supreme Political Council vowed to hold those responsible accountable, claiming the operation aimed to deter Houthi support for Gaza. In December 2023, Yemen foiled another alleged CIA-Mossad spy ring, focused on tracking Houthi leader Abdul Malik Al-Houthi's whereabouts.
