InfoSphere Optim Performance Manager is the defacto state of the art monitoring tool for all version and configuration of DB2 - from 9.1 to 10.5 and be it single instance, DPF of PureScale. There are lot of metrics in key metrics of DB2 which are presented in OPM in a more consumable and useful way. Still it might take DBAs to get used to it and maximize the potential of the tool.

In this presentation some key workflow based approach is presented which help users to get to the problem determination quickly in a logical and progressive way. These uses cases and workflows are developed based on field experience and best practices which are broadly applicable in most of the customer scenarios for quick and deterministic complex database problem solving.
