We are continuing our basic #Networking_course, and today I share to you a key topic in networking, the Types of communications.
When one host (network device) communicates in the network, it can do it in three different ways, #Unicast, #Multicast, and #Broadcast.
*Unicast is simply a one to one communication, here, one host can communicate with only another host at the same time. The IP addresses used in this type of communication can be whatever in the range from class A to class C.
*Multicast communication is used when you want to communicate with many network devices at the same time, but not with all of them. The IP addresses used in Multicast Communication is the whole range of class D IP addresses.
*Broadcast communication, this is a type of communication very common in some networking protocols. When one device starts a broadcast communication, it sends a message and all the devices in the same network will receive that message. The IP address used in this type of communication is the last IP address in the network or in the subnetwork.
** Do not worry, I know that in order to realize which is the last IP address in the IP network, you need to know how to subnetting, and this is a course that I will create very soon.
