The DTIM Lite tool is a spreadsheet that will help a forest inventory planner focus their decisions on how to design an inventory. The problem is often that stakeholders want to measure everything, but they don't use most of the data they collect. DTIM and DTIM-lite help a user document the reasons behind their decisions, and select from among many common monitoring metrics and grouping variables to identify their specific needs, and justify those needs.
