Korea's current account surplus is set to reach a record high this year.
The Bank of Korea says the current account had surpassed the 64-billion-U.S. dollar mark in the January to November period, far above last year's 48 billion dollars.
The central bank adds last month's surplus was at slightly above six billion dollars, marking the 22nd month in a row that the nation's current account stayed in the black.
Still, the figure was lower than the 7-point-5 billion dollars recorded in the same month last year, as well as the all-time monthly high of 9-point-5 billion dollars posted in October this year.
This is mainly because of low performance by the service sector, which logged a deficit in November, which, according to the BOK, is typical for this time of year.
