2023 IDPA World Championship G19 carry optics

Описание к видео 2023 IDPA World Championship G19 carry optics

2023 IDPA World Championship is in the review mirror. I shot all day Thursday. Weather was pleasant, cool temp and overcast. Video is in order of how I shot the match. My first real stage shooting was awful. I had a shot go prematurely, rattled me a little, 3 shots per target, I lost count and dropped a mag with ammo in it. Then even though I came back and put another shot on the first target it was still a miss. Next stage was a little better, however the first 3-4 stages my hands were a little cold for fast shooting and several times I didn’t get a good draw or grip on my pistol. I lost a little time with that along with a fumbled reload. Stage 12 I didn’t kick the door hard enough, almost missed the out and back target, and got my 2nd PE for faulting. Stage 13 was crazy, that auto turner target was really fast and I wanted it on the first presentation. I got it, barely, with one down on that stage (on that target) but my dumbass can’t count and I had 11 rds in the first mag, boom, got my 3rd PE of the match. Stage 14 was a mess, I lost at least 5 seconds getting the f**king flashlight out of my pocket, then on, then getting it to where I needed it. Stage 2 was fun, my only zero down stage. Stage 3 was visually chaotic for me. Those two double swingers and getting that far right target was difficult for me (while still trying to move fast), I was actually happy I only had 4 down on that stage. Stage 4 had three targets with really tight shots (again, if you are going for speed) felt good only having one down on that stage. I had no hits on non-threats, had 38 points down AND 9 penalty points to add to that. With exception of the 3 PEs and that miss I’m ok with “33” points down for this match at the speed I was moving. Some people got a S-H-I-T ton of points down!

I had a lot of fun at this match, probably the most fun I’ve had at a sanctioned match. I think some of that is because I knew I was NOT in the running for an award. LOL. I also shot with a great group of shooters, several I shoot with a few times a month at M160.

Speaking of M160, I want to congratulate Kevin Harding, the owner of M160, for winning the whole tamale at the IDPA World Championship, 1st overall. He is now a Distinguished Master in carry optics. It’s really fun shooting with him, and many others at M160.

Lessons I took away from the match.
1. Don’t swap out a trigger that you’ve used for 2.5yrs two weeks before the World Championship.
2. Bring some of those hand warmers with you.
3. Quadruple check you mag for an unloaded start stage.
4. Kick the freaking door harder AND use the opposite leg to kick it to avoid a possible faulting PE.
5. Perhaps look into getting a light/holster for the pistol.

Overall I was 57th out of 365 that completed the match. I was 26th out of 106 in carry optics division that completed the match and 26th out of 53 (I think) that completed the match for carry optic masters.

Cheers!
