This Shravan Kshetra is located inside Ambedkar Nagar district, more than 50 km from Ram Janmabhoomi... Post is Katehri and village is Chiuntipara. It takes one and a half hour to reach here from Ayodhya.

This is the place where in Tretayuga, Maharaj Dashrath shot the arrow of words on Shravan Kumar. Shravan Kumar had died due to this arrow. Even today the Tamsa river flows here from where Shravan Kumar had gone to take water for his parents.

Makhora Dham is situated 70 km away from the Shravan Kshetra towards the north of the Ghaghra river... This is the same place where Maharaj Dasaratha had performed the Putreshti Yagya.

Chhapia pilgrimage site is just a short distance from Makhora Dham... This place is the birthplace of Swaminarayan sect... Akshardham temple is the temple of this sect...

Bharatkund exists as the abode of Bharat during the exile of Lord Rama, but it is also believed to be the place where Lord Rama sacrificed his father King Dasaratha on his return from Vanvaas. Thousands of devotees have been gathering here in Pitrupaksha to offer prayers to their ancestors.
