Attentive and caring, a parent's delight, but so young at heart, needing comfort at night. The garden is quiet, the house is too, but pausing for a moment, we can still sense you. Your trusting nature and desire to please all, allow us your family, to remain walking tall. Our memories now shared with the nation's heart, small crumbs of comfort, now it is time to part. STORYLINE:

Two thousand mourners packed into Ely Cathedral in eastern England on Friday for a remembrance service for the two murdered school girls, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, whose deaths shocked Britain.

The private service for friends, relatives and invited guests was also attended by the girls' parents.

Police had asked the public not to attend.

The Bishop of Ely, the Right Reverend Anthony Russell, led the memorial, which included a poem read by Holly Wells' father Kevin.

As well as readings and prayers, a bagpipe solo was played by a Wells family friend.

The two ten-year-old girls disappeared 7 miles (11 km) away in their hometown of Soham on August 4, sparking a huge police manhunt and intense press coverage.

Their bodies were found in a rural ditch in eastern England on August 17.

Ian Huntley, a 28-year-old caretaker of a secondary school in Soham, has been charged with their murder.

Huntley's fiance Maxine Carr, a former teaching assistant at the girls' school, is accused of lying to police investigating their disappearance.
