This new chapter of conducting technique focuses on one aspect that's key to breaking patterns: registration. What is it? How do we practice it? How do we apply it to any piece of music we conduct?

Registration helps conductors show a phrase in a different way, using all parts of the conductors' space and breaking the patterns when there is no need for them. Unconsciously, all great conductors did it: Leonard Bernstein just to give you an example.

Through an analysis of the first phrase of the second movement of Ludwing van Beethoven's 1st Symphony, I'll show you how you can apply the same conducting technique and find a new approach to delivering your musical interpretation.
