The M120 Soltam K6 is a 120 mm towed heavy mortar developed by the Israeli company Soltam Systems. It is a long-range version of the Soltam K5 mortar and was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1991 under the designation M120 Mortar System to equip both light infantry and mechanized units.

Purpose: Designed to provide powerful, high-angle, indirect fire support to the unit commander.
Ammunition: Uses various types of 120 mm mortar rounds, including High Explosive (HE), smoke, illumination, and also guided precision munitions (e.g., XM395).
Transportation: In the towed variant, the M120 can be transported using light multi-purpose vehicles such as the M988 HMMWV or by helicopters.
Vehicle Mounted Variants: A self-propelled variant, the M121, is mounted on tracked armored vehicles (e.g., M1064A3 based on the M113) or wheeled armored personnel carriers (e.g., M1129 Stryker).
