About the map:

Firstly, I came across this gem whilst randomly browsing files on idgames. I recalled the author's name from the 2024 instalment of the Doomworld Maximum Project, and their contribution 'Pluto' for it. I thought I'd give this a try, and it definitely doesn't disappoint.

The first map greatly establishes in terms of theme what the player is to expect all throughout; a surreal environment in the clouds with free-floating islands, structures, and an overall sense of surrealism.

MAP01 is fairly simplistic offering lush scenery in the way of a picturesque island with plenty of verticality. The player must obtain the yellow skullkey which is guarded by a Revenant duo and one Hell Knight. The remainder of the level's occupants are an assortment of lower-tier cannon fodder which shouldn't pose too much of a threat.
