Made a short film in association with #TheVibe
on a small poem I wrote -

Sipping my morning tea,⠀
Dreaming of the deep blue sea.⠀
⠀
Resting on the sofa I did wonder⠀
Of the creatures I saw down under.⠀
⠀
Looking out the window at the lonesome street ⠀
Thinking of all the people I did meet.⠀
⠀
Watching the news of people in masks⠀
Even as we go on with our daily tasks.⠀
⠀
People singing on balconies, men proposing to their future wives⠀
Wondering if that’ll ever happen to us in our short lives⠀
⠀
While we look for lost pens and hair ties⠀
All those who spread the deceitful lies⠀
⠀
As the stocks take a scary plummet ⠀
I can see them scream “Whodunnit?”⠀
⠀
While the air clears up a little⠀
My trust in the future grows brittle ⠀
⠀
Social distancing is all the talk⠀
I decide to take a virtual walk⠀
⠀
I barely take a few steps from ‘home’⠀
I see an old man on the balcony alone⠀
⠀
Long queues at the grocery store⠀
Each one asking for a lil more⠀
⠀
A guy on a call with his friends on zoom⠀
A guy decides to ski in his room⠀
⠀
Puppies and kittens and a dance challenge⠀
Chef Jeff makes a pie out of burnt orange⠀
⠀
Easter bunny is out to hand out gifts⠀
A man and his buddy have done a 100 lifts⠀
⠀
So many different people, so much art,⠀
Filling up every pore of my heart,⠀
⠀
And now I feel not so sad⠀
Some of these are pretty rad⠀
⠀
But, social media is a trap, ⠀
don’t use it to fill every gap ⠀
⠀
Exercise, don’t overeat, ⠀
Pick a new hobby or feel the heat,⠀
Do this do that,⠀
Don’t waste this time,⠀
It’s the time to shine,⠀
Don’t for a second doubt,⠀
⠀
SHUT THOSE VOICES OUT.⠀
⠀
All you need to do is this⠀
⠀
Take some rest you need to heal⠀
From all the things you are made to feel⠀
⠀
Spend some time with your fam
Even if its on virtual cam.⠀
⠀
You’re doing enough⠀
Yes this is tough.⠀
⠀
A few years from now we shall look back⠀
Smile and cheer at the courage we had.⠀
⠀
Always remember⠀
We are in this together⠀
⠀
Just be in the here ⠀
The end of this is near.⠀
⠀
