In this video, I show the issues of The Comics Journal in my collection and explain why I think it was the best magazine ever. The reason is mainly because of the depth of it's coverage: news articles, thoughtful reviews, hard-hitting editorials, a lengthy and lively letters section, and (best of all) long transcribed interviews running several pages each issue. I wish that more magazines today (and not just comics-related ones) followed their example.

Looking on Wikipedia, it says: "With issue No. 300 (November 2009), The Comics Journal ceased its semi-monthly print publication. TCJ shifted from an eight-times a year publishing schedule to a larger, more elaborate, semi-annual format supported by a new website. This format lasted until 2013 with issue #302. The print magazine then went on hiatus, returning to a magazine format in 2019 with issue #303."

At the Comics Journal's official website, it shows that #303 & 304 came out in 2019; #305 & 306 came out in 2020; #307 came out in 2021, and #308 came out in 2022.

The new issue (#309) is scheduled to be released on July 4, 2023: https://www.fantagraphics.com/product...

So, The Comics Journal is still being published, although in a much more limited form than in the past.
