Odissi dance I Vidushi Sujata Mohapatra I Live at BCMF 2012

Sujata Mohapatra is a distinguished classical dancer from India, an exponent of Odissi. She is a disciple and daughter-in-law of the late Padma Vibhushan Kelucharan Mohapatra. Mohapatra also trained and conducted research at the Odissi Research Centre in Bhubaneshwar. Presently, she is the Principal of Srjan, an Odissi dance institution established by her late guru. Mohapatra is a recipient of the 2nd Sanjukta Panigrahi Award given by Chitra Krishnamurthi in Washington, Aditya Vikram Birla Kala Kiran Award, Pandit Jasraj Award, amongst many others.

“Kede chhanda janalo sahi Nanda rajara tiki pilati” is written by the great Oriya poet Banamali, which depicts different episodes from Krishna Leela such as Bakasura, Shakatasura, Kaliyadamana and ends with little Krishna showing all universe (viswarupa) by opening his mouth in front of his mother Yasoda, who, realising the divinity of her son, forgets to scold him for his mischief.
