Since the first evening VE11 has been in the lead on Leg 1 of the Volvo ocean race, the crew have been pushing the boat 24hrs a day to squeeze everything out of and it shows as the lead had continued to build until this morning, Day 4 of the race. Skipper, Charlie Enright, has been constantly monitoring progress “Since leaving the pressure of Gibraltar it’s been pretty up and down. We have had some good schedules and some bad schedules, its kinds been first in first out. We are waiting for the gradient to re-establish itself but it’s a little frustrating to see the guys take some miles out of us early this morning but hopefully we can turn that around in the next 6 hours." The wind is meant to lift and build slightly over the next few hours so we could see VE11 take back some of the miles they lost this morning.
