Wow, no videos for the entire summer! Well I'm back, new and improved.

If there's one thing indie games love to do as of late, it's using chiptune music as a throwback to the retro games they so often pay tribute to. Dustforce is a rhythm-based platformer that uses this soothing yet engaging music in the game as a sort of guide to help you time your movements. The whole album is great stuff, but what I like about this one is the insanely catchy melody, it really harkens back to the 2D Zelda games.
Lifeformed, the stagename of indie artist Terence Lee, arranged the entire soundtrack himself. Although Dustforce is his first work on video game music, a lot of his work reflects similar tones, so definitely check it out. And, keep your ears open for his music appearing in the upcoming indie title "Spire," the next game from Dustforce developers HitBox.

Getting the awesome Dustforce soundtrack is all too easy on the internet. Firstly, it's available on iTunes for $9.99, well worth it for 18 quality tracks, but there are even cheaper means available. Head over to Lifeformed's official bandcamp page and get the album for a minimum of $3.99. And if you love what you hear, you can donate as much as you like on that page:
