Peugeot 406/607 Drivers Window Switch Repair

How to remove and repair the driver’s electric window switch block from a Peugeot 406 or 607.
Typically what will happen is the driver’s side window switch button will become unresponsive, or do weird things such as go down when it should go up or vice versa.
It is an easy DIY job to remove the switch block open it up and clean the contacts inside it, the contacts can get dirty, from general use, or in some cases if the window has been left open for some time the moisture can cause corrosion on the contacts within the unit.

The driver’s side window unlike the other windows on the switch block has a one touch feature where if pressed fully down or fully up will cause the window to automatically open or close fully. The other switches are just momentary toggle switches and rarely give any trouble. In order to achieve the one touch function for the driver’s side window the design of this switch is different using a silicone ‘pad’ with contacts on it, these contacts press down and bridge dimples on the PCB.
This is how it was on the 406 and 607, newer Peugeot or Citroen cars with one touch operation all around probably use this layout for all the electric window switches.
