Chestnus-breasted mannikin, finches, munias, bully bird, (Lonchura castaneothorax) are small birds a size of 10 – 12 centimetre and weighs: 14 grams.

Chestnut breasted finches a small bird of reed beds, and grassy places near wetlands. Often in cane fields, cattail/sausage plants, cereal crops in summer.

Mannikins are found across northern and eastern coastal Australia and in Papua New Guinea.

It has brown feathers, grey crown, black face, and a grey bill. Underparts has a chestnut brown, black bar, and white tummy. Golden orange rump and tail.

The male has a bright colour than the female. Very social small bird, normally in flocks, or couple together exchanging their call/songs whilst perching on a stalk field.
