There are some people in our lives that are not included anymore in our journey in life. These people have served their purpose; they are not good for you; they are lessons that you need to learn, or they must learn from you.
Either way, God the Father is faithful to the people who loves Him, respect Him and trust in Him even we do not see Him, like David.
A long war was experienced by the people of Judah against the people of the rest pf the tribes of Israel. Just the same, the Lord God fulfilled His promise to David that he will reign as king. It took more than 7 years for David to ascend the thrown as king of Israel, but it happened, not immediately but there was a process involved.
Abruptly, Abner decided to give the whole of Israel to David just because Ishbosheth accused him of having a sexual relationship with the concubine of his father.
Realizing that whatever he did, no one would trust him that even Ishbosheth doubted him, how much ore the people of Israel.
It crushed Abner of Ner and so decided to go to David for a peace treaty and to end him the whole of Israel from Dan to Beersheba.
Abner also knew that the Lord God Almighty anointed David and Abner was just a hinder.
When Joab learned that Abner made peace with David, Joab and his brother were furious. They thought they would be moved to the side and would be demoted, and of course, Abner killed their brother Asahel. Their grudges against Abner added up and consumed Joab, that he struck him with a knife.
David lamented the death of Abner for he was the uncle of Saul and he was also the granduncle of Jonathan, whom he promised that he would take care of the family of Jonathan.
David's heart was pure and had no intention of killing Abner. He did not hold any grudges in his heart and no we know why God Almighty loved David so much.
David wanted bloodshed to end especially they are all Israelites, that he did not even ordered Joab to be killed, although he cursed them, for the death of a person willing to be submissive to him.
