Chessie System Tribute - Huntington, West Virginia 1987 (CSXT Locomotive Yard Tour 1987 - Part 4)

Описание к видео Chessie System Tribute - Huntington, West Virginia 1987 (CSXT Locomotive Yard Tour 1987 - Part 4)

This short video clip documents CSX Transportation locomotives sighted in Huntington, West Virginia as well as taking a quick look at Ashland and Russell, Kentucky. Take a good look at the Huntington portion of this video as we document one of the last 'mass' gatherings of pure Chessie System locomotives unrenumbered and in their original Chessie (C&O/B&O/WM) paint schemes. You will see Chessie GP9's, SD7's, SD9's, SD18's, SD35's, GP30's and GP35's. As Chessie began in September of 1972 so it ended in December of 1987 and as such concluded a fantastic 15 year run. Only a few unrenumbered Chessie units would survive into early 1988 as the major repainting into CSX colors really kicked in. Also look for U30C 7241 seen in Ashland still wearing its original CSX Transportation logo on the long hood. A true rarity! If you like watching the early stages of CSX, then this video is for you.
