1985 Corsica Rally

We look back at the 1985 Corsica Rally where the Rothmans Team fielded 2 of there Porsche 911`s for Frenchman Bernard Beguin and of course Billy Coleman from Millstreet,it was to turn out to be a gruelling and tough Rally which brought success for Jean Ragnotti in his Renault 5 Turbo but Tragedy for Lancia who lost there Driver Attillo Bettega in an unfortunate Tragic Accident,as a result the Lancia Team withdrew there drivers form the Event and with retirements for fancied drivers like Walter Rohrl in his Audi along with Timo Salonen and Ari Vatanen in the Peugeots and many more Bruno Saby followed home Ragnotti in the sole remaining Peugeot 205 T16 to finish in the runner up spot with Beguin finishing in 3rd place followed home by a delighted Billy Coleman who finished in a fantastic 4th position in the end after suffering some Gearbox issues which slowed his progress during the first half of the Event,this result will go down as being Billy Colemans most satisfying result possibly ever in his career and his best at World Championship level,and we take a look back at some of the highlights from one of the toughest Events to be held in the World Rally Calendar and we thank Pat Sullivan Carrignavar for the use of this Footage,Enjoy.
