Описание к видео NSCSW Ethics Café: Medical assistance in dying (MAiD) & mental health

This session was part of a quarterly ethics café series created for members of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW). This series of lunch and learn sessions is intended to offer social workers an opportunity to reflect upon the complex ethical issues that may be involved in determining the best course of action for themselves to follow. This particular session on March 15, 2024, invited members to explore ethical concerns that must be considered regarding the projected expansion of medical assistance in dying (MAiD) criteria in Canada.

Tracking professional development

For members of NSCSW, viewing and reflecting on this recording may fulfil their annual requirement for training in social work ethics. Members who have already completed that requirement for the year may choose to track this activity as formal professional development instead; a sample attestation template can be downloaded at https://nscsw.org/nscsw-attestation-o... for optional use as a verification document.

Participants may also choose to follow up after watching the webinar to participate in advocacy related to the session's content; such advocacy activities are eligible towards the requirement to complete annual training or activities related to social justice.
