WALKS IN HAMPSHIRE at DUMMER & NUTLEY (4K)

In this episode of my series “ Walks in Hampshire” I take a walk in & around the pretty village of Dummer which is located about 6 miles to the South West of Basingstoke. My 5 mile circular route starts with a wander through the village which is full of delightful thatched cottages & beautiful houses.

A magnificent church, a dog friendly pub, an enchanting village pond and a small village green with 6 cherry trees in full blossom all add to the enjoyment of the walk.

After exploring the village I head South along Wayfarers Walk, past Dummer Grange, and then East
to a country road (take care as this can be busy during peak times and there is no footpath) before heading North to the tiny settlement of Nutley.

At Nutley, there is the churchyards and location of where St Marys church one stood (now long since demolished) to check out before a super walk through Nutley Wood back (past the Basingstoke Golf Club course) to Dummer.

My final destination is the Queen Inn at Dummer.
