Varnay in full prime conquers Elektra's tessitura with ease, command, and unlike others in the role, perfect diction also. Remastered (and pitch-corrected) in great quality, except a few glitches I couldn't remove.

A true dramatic soprano, with development in all registers (and definitely not a mezzo...).
