Oct. 10, 2017 – EDINBURG, Texas – Although the spring season is made up primarily of practices and a few friendlies, the spring is one of the most important times of year for a college soccer team.

The spring season offers programs an opportunity to experience the extended practice time necessary to make significant progress.

In some cases, the spring also allows new student-athletes an extended opportunity to integrate with their new teams.

This past spring, UTRGV men’s soccer welcomed in three new student-athletes, including sophomores Anders Mathiesen and Andy Rios, and freshman Axel Lönnfors.

The extra of semester of preparation with UTRGV has allowed all three student-athletes to become immediate contributors.
