*Ingredients:*
1 cup besan (gram flour)
1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup roasted peanuts (coarsely ground)
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp grated coconut (optional)
A pinch of salt (optional, for flavor balance)

*Instructions:*

1. *Roast the Besan:*
Heat a heavy-bottomed pan on medium flame.
Add 1/2 cup of ghee to the pan and let it melt completely.
Once the ghee melts, add 1 cup of besan (gram flour) to the pan.
Stir continuously to avoid lumps and ensure even roasting. Keep roasting until the besan turns golden brown and gives off a nutty aroma. This should take about 10-15 minutes.
Make sure to keep the flame on medium-low to avoid burning the flour.

2. *Add Peanuts and Raisins:*
After the besan is roasted, add the coarsely ground roasted peanuts to the mixture.
Stir the mixture well so that the peanuts are evenly coated with the besan.
Add the raisins and mix well. Let the mixture cook for another 2-3 minutes until the raisins plump up.

3. *Add Sugar and Cardamom:*
Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly, but not completely. It should still be warm to touch.
Add 3/4 cup of powdered sugar, 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder, and 2 tbsp of grated coconut (if using). Mix everything thoroughly to combine.
The mixture should be moist enough to hold its shape. If it's too dry, you can add a little more melted ghee.

4. *Shape the Laddus:*
While the mixture is still warm, take small portions in your hands and roll them into round balls (laddus).
If the mixture is too dry to form balls, add a little extra ghee and try again.
Press the mixture firmly while rolling to make sure the laddus hold their shape.

5. *Cool and Serve:*
Once all the laddus are shaped, let them cool completely at room temperature.
You can garnish with more grated coconut or a few extra raisins on top for decoration, if desired.

6. *Storage:*
Store the laddus in an airtight container. They can stay fresh for up to a week at room temperature.

Tips:
You can add other nuts like almonds or cashews to enhance the taste.
Adjust the sugar level according to your taste preference.
If you prefer a richer taste, you can add a few saffron strands soaked in milk to the mixture.
