French Foreign legionnaires in mobile operations against rebels in Rif mountains of Morocco

French Legionnaires, headquartered in Taza, mount mobile operations in the Rif mountains of Morocco. A sign board reads "Col Du Nador, Altitude 1430M." The Legionnaires take up positions and fire heavy machine guns from their tanks. Their Infantrymen fire small arms from prone positions. French gun crews fire 105mm howitzers. At a bridge,while officers consult together, soldiers fill a deep hole with stones to facilitate transit. A tribesman fighter (goumier) with a Legionnaire. Comrades transport injured soldiers and give them medical aid. A Legionnaire points up towards a Fokker D.XXIII aircraft overhead. Later an AT-6 is seen. It descends to attack a rebel position. A soldier looks through a pericopic binocular on a tripod. French troops moving along a hillside. French Officer with soldiers at a radio command post. French troops crawl to edge of a precipice and fire at rebel positions below. Location: Morocco North Africa. Date: 1955.
