The French and American Military bilateral relationship since 248 years and onwards, an enduring Alliance: highlights of the September 4 conference.

On Thursday, September 4, fifty attendees gathered at Ecole Militaire, Paris 7, to attend a conference led by General Vincent de Kytspotter, sharing his perspectives and experience in the French Army and close collaboration with American services in the Pentagon as well as in the field around the world.

Pierre de Bausset, Board Member of the Society of the Cincinnati, opened with remarks on the organization’s origins after the American Revolution. With nearly 5,000 members, including about 500 French, the Society promotes public interest in the Revolution through educational programs, exhibitions, museum, library, research programs, or via the American Revolution Institute.

As a practitioner on Cohesion & Interoperability through his past experience (Assistant Défense Attaché in Washington as well as in his capacity as Military adviser at the French Mission to the United Nations), General Vincent de Kytspotter, peaking under Chatham House rules, shared his personal perspectives gathered from his experience in the French Armed Forces and close collaboration with the US Military. He is also a historian and will soon publish a book on the Victory at Yorktown or how France offered the independence to the USA (1781).

Following the end of formal remarks and a brief Q/A, the group recessed to a cocktail before venturing out of the expansive campus of the École Militaire in the 7th arrondissement in Paris.
