How to disable (disable) Google Chat and Meet in the Gmail sidebar? Solution Note: If you disable these features, you will no longer receive notifications from Google Chat or Meet. We recommend leaving it at work.
Click "Settings" (gear icon) in the upper right corner.
From the drop-down menu, click View All Settings.
Select the Chat & Meetings tab.
To turn off the Google Chat section, select Chat Off
To disable the Google Meet panel, select "Hide Meet panel from main menu"
Click "Save Changes" when finished #gmail #tutorial #google

Important: If you turn off Google Chat in Gmail, turn off chat rooms as well. If you want to continue using chat rooms in the new Gmail experience, you must turn on Google Chat. In short, disabling chat disables the associated room component.
