David S. Taylor was born on August 4, 1958, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1980 and went on to earn an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1982.

After completing his MBA, Taylor joined Procter & Gamble as a brand assistant. He quickly rose through the ranks at P&G, holding a variety of positions in the company's global beauty, grooming, and healthcare businesses. In 2005, he was named Group President of Global Household Care, where he oversaw several of P&G's largest brands, including Tide, Downy, and Mr. Clean.

In 2015, Taylor was named CEO of Procter & Gamble, succeeding A.G. Lafley. Since taking over as CEO, Taylor has led a significant transformation of the company, focusing on brand simplification, innovation, and cost reduction. Under his leadership, P&G has divested over 100 brands, streamlined its product portfolio, and invested heavily in research and development.
