Don’t Call Me A Strong Woman - Lindiwe Hani

Описание к видео Don’t Call Me A Strong Woman - Lindiwe Hani

Public Figures. We see them, follow them, idolise or vilify them. We believe that we know and own them. Lindiwe Hani had a private attachment to a very public figure in South Africa’s struggle for independence. When she lost her sister, with whom she had an unbreakable bond, her life fell off its hinges.

She’d always been Chris Hani’s daughter, she’d been taught to hide her pain and be strong, now as she was falling apart, she had no one to hang onto. She leaned on hard to alcohol and drugs and became addicted. Lindiwe Hani tells the story of finding herself, reframing strength as a black woman and breaking generational trauma cycles.
