Doug Forbes and Elena Matyas's six-year old, Roxie Forbes, tragically drowned at a camp in California in the summer of 2019. After Roxie's death, the California Department of Social Services determined the camp to be an illegal child care facility with fraudulently certified lifeguards.

In this #SafetyHotTopic video, Doug & Elena share 5 things every parent should ask BEFORE sending a child to a camp:
1. “Are you running background checks
on employees EVERY year?”
2. “Are your employees properly certified to facilitate
the high-risk activities you offer such as swimming,
rock climbing, riflery or archery?”
3. “When and where does your training occur?
What is your backup plan if an employee fails
the training or does not attend the training?” (On-site lifeguard certification, is a major red flag!)
4. “Do you have an Emergency Action Plan (EAP)?"
5. “What is your insurance policy?”
