In this video, I will discuss the design method for columns (Square, Rectangle, Circle)

STEPS

Step 1: Assume the percentage of steel (1%)

Step 2: Find Gross area (Ag) using the given expression

Step 3: Substitute the gross area back in the equation and find the area of steel (Asc). Provide a suitable size of the bar.

Step 4: Design the transverse reinforcement.

Step 5: Draw the section showing all the details.
